The Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) invites you to its 50th Anniversary HOLA Awards Gala. This milestone gathering of NYC’s Hispanic and Latin creative community will honor exceptional talents who have made outstanding contributions to theater, film, television, streaming, and media. With creative direction by acclaimed international director and choreographer Luis Salgado (On Your Feet!, In the Heights, Ragtime, Beautiful), the 50th Anniversary HOLA Awards Gala will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at HK Hall (605 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036). Celebrated Broadway performer Bianca Marroquín (Chicago) and Emmy Award–winning On Stage host Frank DiLella (NY1) will guide the evening, leading an unforgettable night of recognition, artistry, and celebration.

The celebration will feature live music from Manteca Blue, led by acclaimed musician Daniel Gutiérrez, setting the rhythm from the welcome reception through the afterparty and keeping the energy vibrant all night long. Special featured artists Florencia Cuenca (Real Women Have Curves – The Musical) and Jaime Lozano (Frida, The Musical) will also join the Gala, bringing their celebrated artistry to an unforgettable performance.

As the highlight of the evening, the Gala’s highest honor, the Raúl Juliá HOLA Founders Award, will be presented to internationally renowned actor, writer, composer, and director Lin-Manuel Miranda—Pulitzer Prize, Tony, Emmy, and Grammy Award-winning creator of the musicals Hamilton and In the Heights, among other acclaimed works. This prestigious award recognizes Miranda’s transformative contributions to the performing arts and his unwavering commitment to uplifting Latin voices on stage and screen.

Also joining the evening’s roster of honorees is Ariana DeBose, the Academy Award-winning actress and trailblazing performer, who will receive the HOLA Rita Moreno Award for Excellence. The award recognizes her extraordinary talent, groundbreaking achievements, and commitment to advancing Hispanic and Latin representation in the entertainment industry.

This year’s Gala also highlights the powerful Latin presence in theater throughout the New York City metropolitan area, honoring the contributions of the Hispanic community along with groundbreaking productions and artists making a lasting impact both on Broadway and on local stages. The Broadway production of Buena Vista Social Club will be honored with awards for Patricia Delgado (HOLA Graciela Daniele Excellence in Choreography Award) and Leonardo Reyna (HOLA Elizabeth Peña Breakthrough Artist Award).

Composer Joy Huerta, from the Broadway production of Real Women Have Curves – The Musical, will receive the HOLA Excellence in Music Award. This year the award-winning singer-songwriter became the first Mexican woman to write the original score for a Broadway musical (RWHC) and to receive a Tony nomination with her debut on Broadway.

INTAR Theatre will receive the HOLA Excellence in Theater Award in recognition of its enduring legacy ahead of its 60th anniversary in 2026, and for this season’s historic appointment of Nidia Medina as its first woman artistic director. One of the longest-running Latiné theater companies in the United States, INTAR has long been a vital incubator for Latin talent and a champion of culturally resonant storytelling.

Closing the evening’s roster of honorees, celebrated Spanish actress and cultural advocate Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, President of the Academia de las Artes Escénicas de España, will receive the HOLA Excellence in Television Award in recognition of her distinguished career and her leadership in expanding the reach and impact of Hispanic performing arts on an international stage.

The ceremony will also celebrate the vibrant New York City theater community, recognizing the many companies that have excelled during the 2024–2025 season. This year’s theater nominations include distinguished institutions such as IATI Theater, Pregones/PRTT, Repertorio Español, Teatro Círculo, and The People’s Theatre, among others.
