Acting U.S. Accents: Expand Your Range as a Bilingual Actor
Gain a valuable tool for your acting repertoire with our transformative workshop, designed specifically for Hispanic actors ready to add U.S. accents to their performance skill set. This class isn’t about “fixing” how you speak—it’s about giving you options. Whether it’s for scripts requiring regional U.S. accents or roles demanding authentic delivery of the the elusive ‘no accent,’ this workshop will help you confidently adapt to the needs of these projects!
Led by expert Jane Guyer Fujita, you’ll explore the rhythm, melody, and sound distinctions of U.S. accents in a practical, performance-focused environment. Through targeted exercises, you’ll develop techniques to integrate accents seamlessly into your character work and text analysis, creating layered, authentic performances.
Bring a script or monologue to work on from day one as we dive into applying these techniques to real-world material. This workshop is designed to help you connect your vocal choices to your acting choices, giving you the flexibility to meet the demands of diverse roles and directors.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a dependable process for incorporating U.S. accents as a storytelling tool—whether for a specific audition, a role, or simply expanding your versatility as an actor. Embrace your voice and discover new creative possibilities.

General Information and Requirements:
- HOLA Workshop: Acting U.S. Accents
- Dates of the workshop: Mondays and Wednesdays . 8 sessions starting on January 20th
- Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm
- Place: HOLA Office/Studio (107 Suffolk St # 309, New York, NY 10002).
- Classes will be bilingual, conducted in both English and Spanish
- Duration: Each class will last 2 hours.
- You are required to be present during all sessions. Do not register if you cannot be present for the entire workshop.
- By attending this class, you consent to HOLA capturing and using any photographs and/or videos taken during the event for any purpose without compensation. All media will be solely owned by HOLA and may be used for publications on HOLA’s digital platforms and other communications supporting its mission.

- Price for HOLA members: $240*

Cancellation Policy HOLA Workshops:
Due to limited availability, please register only if you can commit to attending the entire workshop. Should you need to cancel, we require that you notify us at least 7 days before the start of the first class by emailing education@holaofficial.org. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the workshop start date will not be eligible for a refund.
