HOLA is proud to partner with the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA), the West Harlem Arts Alliance (WHAA), and Corezon to offer an exclusive opportunity for HOLA members and artists living in Northern Manhattan to refresh their professional image with high-quality portraits at an affordable price.
Join us for the Affordable Artist Portraits & Headshot Sessions on Sunday, June 14, 2026, featuring acclaimed photographers Michael Palma Mir and Emmanuel Abreu.
For only $50, participants will receive:
- A personalized 10-minute photo session
- Up to two looks (Participants should arrive camera-ready for their first look and bring a quick wardrobe change—such as a different shirt or jacket—if they would like a second look for their second photo)
- Two professionally edited headshots or portraits
- The corresponding raw image files for additional flexibility and future use
Whether you are an actor, singer, dancer, director, creative entrepreneur, or arts professional, strong professional photos are an essential tool for building your career and increasing your visibility in the industry.
This initiative was created to make professional-quality portraits accessible to artists while supporting and uplifting the Hispanic and Latin artistic community in New York City.

Acompáñanos en las Sesiones de Retratos y Headshots Accesibles para Artistas, que se llevarán a cabo el domingo 14 de junio de 2026, con los reconocidos fotógrafos Michael Palma Mir y Emmanuel Abreu.
Por solo $50, cada participante recibirá:
- Una sesión fotográfica personalizada de 10 minutos
- Hasta dos cambios de look (Los participantes deben llegar listos para su primera foto y traer un cambio rápido —como otra camisa o chaqueta— si desean un segundo look para su segunda imagen)
- Dos retratos o headshots editados profesionalmente

General Information and Requirements:
- Event: HOLA Affordable Artist Portraits & Headshot Sessions.
- Photographers: Michael Palma Mir and Emmanuel Abreu.
- Date: Sunday June 14th, 2026.
- Times: 10 AM to 7 PM
- Location: NoMAA’s Photo Studio – Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (4140 Broadway, New York, NY 10033)
- Reservation: Secure your 10-minute slot for only $50.
- Booking Confirmation: Your booking confirmation email serves as your ticket. Please bring it with you to the event.
- Arrival Time: Ensure to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time slot.
- Attire: This is a two-look photo session, so come dressed ready for your first headshot and a quick change of shirt for the second photo. Bring a couple of extra shirts just in case.
- Additional Information: It’s recommended to arrive with some spare time to relax and refresh before your session. Ensure your hair and makeup are done beforehand.
- Image Delivery: Participants will select their favorite photo from 3–4 preselected images per look provided by the photographer. Their two selected images will then be professionally edited and delivered with the corresponding raw files in the weeks following the session.
About the Photographers:
Michael Palma Mir.
A lifelong and a second-generation resident of Hamilton Heights in Harlem. Mr. Palma Mir has been a community activist all his adult life and divides his time between work in the theater and photography as well as being an advocate for a better quality of life in West Harlem. Mr. Palma Mir is twice graduated from Columbia University with a BA in English and a Master of Fine Arts from the Hammerstein II Center. As a photographer, Mr. Palma Mir has documented the Latino arts scene in New York since the 1980’s and has curated and participated in various Upper Manhattan photo groups. Most notably, he co-curated and participated in “Vague Terrain: Manhattanville” at the Compton-Goethals Hall Art Gallery in City College, where Mr. Palma Mir spent a year chronicling the architecture, artifacts, and people of Manhattanville; a photographic testimonial during a period of ongoing and dramatic changes for the community. More recently he curated a photo exhibit named “Selfless Selfies” at the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance Gallery, a black & white exhibit by Upper Manhattan photographers, narrating stories about their changing communities. He conducts free photography workshops for the Fort Tryon Conservancy and for the Montefiore Park Neighborhood Association and is the resident staff photographer at the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling. Currently, Mr. Palma Mir is the founding Executive Director of the West Harlem Arts Alliance.
Emmanuel Abreu
Is a New York City-based photographer and videographer with a strong connection to the Washington Heights/Inwood community. His work has been featured in major publications such as The New York Times, The Manhattan Times, HuffPost, and Gothamist. Abreu is also the co-founder of Word Up Community Bookshop and the founder of Uptown Photowalk, a monthly community photography event. His photography often captures the joy and beauty of the neighborhood, even during challenging times like the pandemic. Abreu’s work is not just about capturing moments but also about creating a space for community and connection.

The Affordable Artist Portraits & Headshot Sessions is a unique initiative that offers high-quality headshots at very affordable prices, specifically for Hispanic/Latin artists. This program is a collaboration between the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA), the West Harlem Arts Alliance (WHAA), Corezon, and HOLA. It aims to empower artists by improving their professional portfolios and increasing their visibility within the industry.

Las Sesiones de Retratos y Fotos Profesionales Asequibles para Artistas es una iniciativa única que ofrece fotos profesionales de alta calidad a precios muy asequibles, específicamente para artistas hispanos y latinos. Este programa se realiza en colaboración entre la Alianza de Artes del Norte de Manhattan (NoMAA), la Alianza de Artes de West Harlem (WHAA), Corezon, y HOLA. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
- All bookings for the Affordable Artist Portraits & Headshot Sessions are non-refundable due to limited availability and exclusive pricing. If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, please contact us at hola@holaofficial.org promptly to request rescheduling. We will try to accommodate your new time slot request based on current availability.
