HOLA is partnering with the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA) & West Harlem Arts Alliance (WHAA) organizations to offer HOLA members and artists in Northern Manhattan an exclusive opportunity to update their professional portfolios with a high-quality headshot at an incredibly affordable price, featuring photographers Michael Palma Mir and Anthony Rojas!
The 15-minute Portrait / Headshot sessions will take place on Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st. For just $25, each participant will receive one professionally edited headshot and the corresponding raw file, providing versatility for use across various platforms and purposes. General Information and Requirements:
- Event: HOLA Affordable Artist Portraits & Headshot Sessions.
- Photographers: Michael Palma Mir and Anthony Rojas.
- Dates: Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st.
- Times: May 31st from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and June 1st from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Location: NoMAA’s Photo Studio – Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (4140 Broadway, New York, NY 10033)
- Reservation: Secure your 15-minute slot for only $25 by visiting the provided link.
- Booking Confirmation: Your booking confirmation email serves as your ticket. Please bring it with you to the event.
- Arrival Time: Ensure to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled time slot.
- Attire: This is a one-look photo session, so come dressed ready for your headshot. Bring a couple of extra shirts just in case.
- Additional Information: It’s recommended to arrive with some spare time to relax and refresh before your session. Ensure your hair and makeup are done beforehand.
- Image Delivery: Participants will receive one professionally edited headshot and the corresponding raw file in the weeks following the session.
About the Photographers:
Michael Palma Mir.
A lifelong and a second-generation resident of Hamilton Heights in Harlem. Mr. Palma Mir has been a community activist all his adult life and divides his time between work in the theater and photography as well as being an advocate for a better quality of life in West Harlem. Mr. Palma Mir is twice graduated from Columbia University with a BA in English and a Master of Fine Arts from the Hammerstein II Center. As a photographer, Mr. Palma Mir has documented the Latino arts scene in New York since the 1980’s and has curated and participated in various Upper Manhattan photo groups. Most notably, he co-curated and participated in “Vague Terrain: Manhattanville” at the Compton-Goethals Hall Art Gallery in City College, where Mr. Palma Mir spent a year chronicling the architecture, artifacts, and people of Manhattanville; a photographic testimonial during a period of ongoing and dramatic changes for the community. More recently he curated a photo exhibit named “Selfless Selfies” at the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance Gallery, a black & white exhibit by Upper Manhattan photographers, narrating stories about their changing communities. He conducts free photography workshops for the Fort Tryon Conservancy and for the Montefiore Park Neighborhood Association and is the resident staff photographer at the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling. Currently, Mr. Palma Mir is the founding Executive Director of the West Harlem Arts Alliance.
Anthony Rojas
Anthony Rojas is a Latino multi-disciplinary artist based out of Washington Heights, New York City. He is a graduate of SUNY Purchase College where he majored in Cinema Studies and double-minored in Film Production and Screenwriting.
His recent short documentary, The Last Movie Theater in Washington Heights, was officially selected at HBO’s New York Latino Film Festival, the Dominican Film Festival in New York, NALIP Official Selection, the Mott Haven Film Festival and the Inwood Film Festival.
His work has been featured on Deadline, The Manhattan Times, Uptown Collective, NoMAA, Nuevayorkinos, and Remezcla.
His work— whether through film, photography, or graphic design— centers around documenting the Latinx experience in New York City.

The Affordable Artist Portraits & Headshot Sessions is a unique initiative that offers high-quality headshots at very affordable prices, specifically for Hispanic/Latin artists. This program is a collaboration between the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA), the West Harlem Arts Alliance (WHAA), and HOLA. It aims to empower artists by improving their professional portfolios and increasing their visibility within the industry.

Las Sesiones de Retratos y Fotos Profesionales Asequibles para Artistas es una iniciativa única que ofrece fotos profesionales de alta calidad a precios muy asequibles, específicamente para artistas hispanos y latinos. Este programa se realiza en colaboración entre la Alianza de Artes del Norte de Manhattan (NoMAA), la Alianza de Artes de West Harlem (WHAA) y HOLA. Su objetivo es empoderar a los artistas mejorando sus portafolios profesionales y aumentando su visibilidad dentro de la industria.
Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
- All bookings for the HOLA Headshots Event are non-refundable due to limited availability and exclusive pricing. If you are unable to attend your scheduled session, please contact us at hola@holaofficial.org promptly to request rescheduling. We will try to accommodate your new time slot request based on current availability. Note that no-shows will incur a 3-month restriction from participating in HOLA programs. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making this event successful for everyone involved.
