About the show

Ms. Amelia, a meticulous and well-respected singing coach, receives Ramon, a young man who wants to improve his vocal technique, to sing a tribute at his recently deceased mother’s memorial. The chosen song, “La Golondrina,” has a special meaning for him and, apparently, for Amelia, who, despite her initial reluctance, agrees to give him a lesson. As the afternoon progresses, the two characters unravel the details of their past, deeply marked by a terrorist attack in a bar. La Golondrina brings to light the emotional turmoil of grief and the devastating impact of terrorist attacks and hate crimes aimed at the LGBTQAI+ community.

“La Golondrina” received a nomination for the GILBERTO ZALDÍVAR AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING PRODUCTION at the 2023 HOLA Awards. Additionally, Rafa Sánchez and Zulema Clares were both nominated in the category of OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A LEAD ACTOR, with Zulema ultimately winning the award.

Please note that there are 25 complimentary tickets available for members, sorted on this registration page on a first-come, first-served basis. We kindly ask that you register only if you are certain you can attend the entire event, and only one ticket per member is allowed. If you are unable to secure a ticket, please email us to be placed on the waiting list.

About HOLA AFTER THE CURTAIN

Cancellation Policy:

• This complimentary offer for HOLA members is subject to limited availability. We ask that you register only if you can attend the entire event.
• In the event that you need to cancel your reservation, we kindly ask for your prompt notification with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. Please send an email to inform us of your cancellation at hola@holaofficial.org.
• Failure to provide timely notice or being a no-show will result in a 3-month restriction from participating in HOLA programming, starting from the event date.
• To register for events during the restriction period, a $35 penalty fee will be required to waive the restriction.
