Script Analysis

Because you can’t be a storyteller if you don’t understand the story.

If “acting is living truthfully under imaginary circumstances” (Sanford Meisner), how do we figure out what’s what when we get sides for an audition?

This is where our resourcefulness and investigative skills come in.

Let’s come together in a low-pressure Zoom class to have a collaborative session where we review and learn new ways to analyze the story, genre, and the writer’s specific choices in order to approach every script.

You’ll learn to do the following:

  • Mine the script for character, relationship and story clues.
  • Train your brain and intuition to find these clues and cues quickly.
  • Make bold and informed choices that make sense to the story.
  • Approach your auditions more efficiently and confidently.

This is a 2 hour class where we will go over the analysis concepts and skills, break into small groups to work on scripts, and then come back together to review and learn from our work together. Then if you have pending auditions, we can work on your sides if there’s time!
