U.S. Accents – HOLA Workshop

United States Accents: Expanding Your Range as a Bilingual Theater & Film Artist

Unlock a powerful tool for creative expression in this immersive workshop designed for bilingual Hispanic theater and film artists. Whether you’re an actor, director, writer, or voice artist, this course offers practical techniques for incorporating U.S. accents into your work with authenticity and purpose.

This class isn’t about “fixing” how you speak—it’s about expanding your range. From roles or characters requiring regional U.S. accents to scripts that call for the elusive “neutral” American sound, you’ll gain adaptable skills to meet the vocal demands of diverse projects across media.

Led by voice and speech expert Jane Guyer Fujita, this workshop explores the rhythm, melody, and sound distinctions of American English in a dynamic, performance-based environment. You’ll engage in exercises that support accent integration into storytelling, direction, and character development—whatever your role in the creative process.

Bring a script, monologue, or scene you’re working on from day one, and apply techniques in real time. You’ll develop a dependable approach to voicing U.S. accents in ways that serve the story, align with the creative vision, and deepen the impact of your work.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the tools to use American accents as a flexible storytelling device—broadening your artistic reach and strengthening your voice as a multilingual artist.
